Second Chance School

In 2009 we were asked to support a school in the northern part of Niger with school supplies. The Second Chance School gives children who are no longer permitted to attend government schools the opportunity to have a "second chance” and continue their education. P4K sent boxes of school supplies for the teachers and students to enrich their learning experience.

Letter of thank you from Barbara at the Second Chance School

Dear Robin,

A wonderful time was had by all. We had the State Superintendent of schools and his 2ND in charge, the Mayor of Maine-Soroa and his different officials, the Executive Director of the Foundation Kirker, the President of the Parent Teachers Association and many other dignitaries numbering about fifty in all. The children were thrilled with the gifts and are eagerly looking forward to using them when school starts.

Inspirational Story

I had always talked about P4K and compared it to the children’s story, "The Little Engine that Could”, written by Watty Piper, which I had loved as a child.
